Tring
Tring is a small market town in the Chiltern Hills in Hertfordshire, England. Situated 30 miles (48 km) north-west of London and linked to London by the old Roman road of Akeman Street, by the modern A41, by the Grand Union Canal and by rail lines to Euston Station, Tring is now largely a commuter town in the London commuter belt. Natural History Museum at Tring The Natural History Museum at Tring was the private museum of Lionel Walter, 2nd Baron Rothschild, today it is under the control of the Natural History Museum. It houses one of the finest collections of stuffed mammals, birds, reptiles and insects in the United Kingdom. The museum was first known as the Walter Rothschild Zoological Museum, however in April 2007 the Natural History Museum changed its name. Pavis Wood Pavis Wood is an area of woodland on a hill located near Hastoe in Tring, south-western Hertfordshire,England. A point on its eastern slopes is the highest point in the county of Hertfordshire at 244 m (801 ft). The area is often considered as ancient woodland comprising of a wide variety of plants such as the Yellow Pimpernel and Wood Mellick. A bridleway crosses the woodland which can be accessed throughout the year as well as the Ridgeway National Trail which is dominated mainly by beech, oak and ash. Information by Wikipedia.com
